The Human Mind

If there’s anything more complex than the universe, I would say it’s the human mind. The complexity is indeed what makes it so interesting.
With the power of mind, one, upon using it constructively, can win any situation, or overcome any challenge.
If it’s tamed properly, you’re the winner. If you fail to tame it, it will consume and destroy you.

The Science of the Mind

The human mind consists of three parts, namely- The Conscious mind, the Subconscious mind, and the Unconscious mind.

The Conscious Mind-

In simple terms, the voluntary mind. That part of the mind, which can be controlled by us.
For example, if you are asked by a stranger what your name is, you would use your conscious mind to answer.
The actions of this part of the mind, are influenced by what we would be talking about- The Subconscious Mind.

The Subconscious Mind-

The part of mind that basically shapes our thought processes for the long term- our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.
This part of the mind is considered to be involuntary. However, it can be influenced or ‘trained’ by long term inputs, from the conscious mind.
For example, if one gets stressed out about a certain issue, for a long time to an extent that they are not even able to stay in the present,
they will tend to become an overthinker- Utilising most of their energy in stressing out on the things that aren’t even supposed to be worried for.
Another example, which is one of the most commonly used words in today’s world- Depression;
The World Health Organisation estimates that 350 million people suffer from depression worldwide.
The thing is, people are depressed, not more because of some reason around them, but more
because of the fact that, they are personally claiming themselves to be depressed.
They are telling their conscious mind, that they are depressed. The conscious mind on the other hand, tells the subconscious mind,
the same thing, which is then ultimately affecting the individual in the long term- Their thinking, their actions in a negative way.
Conversely, if one keeps radiating postivity to his conscious mind, the positive subconscious mind created thereafter,
channelises positive effects in the person’s activities.
Enough to understand how powerful the subconscious mind is.

The Unconscious Mind-

The Unconscious Mind is that part of the mind which is totally automatic, and completely involuntary,
and is not available for introspection. For example, consider driving a car.
As a driver, you’re consciously aware of the road, the traffic, and your destination.
However, you’re not consciously aware of how your hands coordinate with the steering wheel or how
the engine and gearbox operate to keep the car running smoothly. These underlying processes happen automatically
in the background, much like how the unconscious mind works—
constantly active but beyond the reach of conscious introspection.

Connect to Behavior – How the Unconscious Shapes Us

Ever had a bad ‘vibe’ about someone? “Oh, I’m getting bad vibes from them”—we say it all the time.
But what exactly is a ‘vibe’? It’s not just intuition or superstition. It’s a precise, rapid-fire analysis performed all in a fraction of a second.
Ever felt someone to be effortlessly smart—and someone else just not quite there?
Without thinking twice, we’re drawn toward those who feel intellectually sharper than us.
We admire, sometimes even envy, them. And conversely, we subconsciously distance ourselves from those we
perceive as mentally slower or awkward.
These are not always conscious judgments. They’re impulses—shaped, filtered, and delivered by the unconscious mind.
The very first impression we form when we see anyone—before a word is spoken—is sculpted by the unconscious.
It scans, measures, predicts- the inner observer, always working in silence.

The conscious mind? It’s the narrator—the one who presents the script.
But the real author? Always the unconscious.
